Mulholland Drive

25th Anniversary

2001 · Directed by David Lynch · 147 min

A hypnotic descent into dreams, identity, and illusion, Mulholland Drive blurs the line between Hollywood fantasy and psychological nightmare. What begins as a mysterious amnesia story spirals into a haunting puzzle of fractured realities—where nothing is as it seems, and every answer only deepens the enigma.

Membership

The Cabinet runs on community. Membership is how you make next season possible.

Membership exists because ticket sales alone don't cover the full cost of what we do. When you become a member, you're not just buying access to screenings — you're underwriting the whole project. You're the reason the lights stay on and the projector keeps rolling.

In return, members get real benefits: discounted entry, early access, a voice in programming, and depending on your tier, the chance to shape a screening yourself. This is a community cinema. Members are its backbone.

Non-Profit Operation
All ticket sales, memberships, and donations are reinvested directly into the Celluloid Cabinet — film licensing, speaker fees, and operational costs. No profit is taken, nothing is pocketed.

Celluloid Cabinet / Story

About Us

A community-rooted cinema initiative born in Simcoe County. We believe film is a living art form — and our community is its audience.

"Cinema isn't dead — it's a living art form. Our community is its audience. Every chair filled is a proof of that."

The Celluloid Cabinet is an independent, community-driven screening series based in Barrie, Ontario, bringing curated cinema to Simcoe County.

We commit to devoting programming space to under-represented voices: Indigenous filmmakers, queer and feminist cinema, cult and obscure works, and stories from young filmmakers still finding their voice.

We partner with local venues and organizations to host screenings in places that feel alive — places that become part of the film's atmosphere.

01

Curated Programming

Every selection is intentional — cult classics, Indigenous filmmakers, queer cinema, and rare Simcoe County narratives.

02

Community Venues

We screen in breweries, vintage shops, and local arts spaces — places that add to the experience rather than subtract from it.

03

Accessible by Design

Ticket prices that never exclude. Memberships that support. Cinema that belongs to the community that shows up for it.

Celluloid Cabinet / Collaborators

Partners

The Cabinet exists through collaboration. Our partners are venues and local organizations who share the belief that film belongs in the community.

We seek ongoing partnerships with businesses and organizations who want to be part of Barrie's growing arts and cinema culture. Every partner gets attribution, audience, and a genuine seat at the table.
